In robotics so far we had to make our sensors work. The sensors are the things that tell the robot where to go and stuff like that. After that week we are now working on how the sensors work and we have to demonstrate it to Mr.West. It was hard with the tuch sensor because my partner and I couldnt find out how to do the angle. We got right on going straight to the wall but we coudnt do it at an angle. We evantually got it working and we finished two other sensors that same day. Now were on the hacky sack. Its when you have to rescue a sack of beans by programming your robot to find the hacky sack through a maze and pushing the sack into the safe zone.
These robots are sort of like the ones we make in robotics class. The only difference is that they aren't as complex as these ones. The robots we make are simple, but we can make it difficult if we want to. The way we make it more difficult and complex like these ones is because we can change the design by making the motors for the wheels higher or lower or closer or further from each other. The activities we do in there are like we have to find out how the sensors work. The kit provides sensors in there like the touch sensor. If the touch sensor is pressed then it does something to the robot like what ever you programmed the robot to do. Now we're working on a program where the robot has to detect a red or blue ball and push it into the safety zone. After that we are going to work on battle bots. Its about making the robot go to the other side of the area and pop another robot's baloonwith a paper clip or close pin.
